with Tina Dungan and Shad Dyke, creators of the Sonoma County LGTBQI Timeline.

Join us via Zoom for a FREE Virtual Program on June 25th at 7 pm.

Pre-registration for this free virtual program is required

In the 1970s, the Women’s Movement and the Stonewall Riots combined to impact the nation and the world. Many lesbians began to dream of creating their own communities. During that time, an influx of lesbian women moved to Sonoma County, creating a vibrant community in the area. These women opened businesses and produced theater and musical events. Women’s Studies programs were created at Sonoma State University and Santa Rosa Junior College, two of the first such programs in California. Lesbians from Sonoma County helped lead the political fights that were happening with the Briggs Initiative/Prop 6, which sought to ban gay/lesbian
people from working in public schools.
Tina and Shad will be discussing the unique history of lesbians in Sonoma County and how these women have made an impact on our community.

Pre-registration for this free virtual program is required. Registration is limited.
