Why Diversity & Inclusion?
Diversity & Inclusion is a very complex and difficult topic to explore, but as an organization, we feel it is important to lean into the emotions and discomfort and make space for these critical conversations to take place.
In our introductory conversations with Ngozi, she said, “Racism should be uncomfortable. I applaud the Sonoma County Professional Women for doing the much-needed work toward self-education and creating a more equal society. While racism has been historically politicized and some of the resources may touch on politics, my stance on racism is that it is a fundamental human rights issue and not one of politics.”
About the Speaker:
Ngozi Okeh is an experienced diversity & inclusion practitioner and educator. With extensive experience across several industries from Washington DC, to Sacramento, CA, Ngozi has a history of working with organizations that strengthen marginalized communities and educate corporate leaders and their workforce. Ngozi also has extensive experience with strategy development and implementation in mortgage banking, an industry with a long history of systemic racism.
