Jazz and Friends National Day of School and Community Readings

February 27, 2020 @ 5:30 pm - 7:30 pm

Representation in books for LGBTQIA+ youth is so vital to their well being; to feel seen and accepted. It is also important for cis-gender youth to learn about all different people and genders, to learn that people are people, who all deserve respect and love. Which is why Welcoming Schools, under the Human Rights Campaign, started this Jazz and Friends National Day of School and Community Readings.

Join Amor Para Todos and teacher Erika Smith, mother of a non-binary child, who has 25+ years of teaching experience, while including gender education & advocacy into her classrooms. She will be reading, I am Jazz, by Jazz Jennings, and other gender inclusive books, while also answering questions and leading any prompted discussions.

Kid friendly!
Snacks provided!
Local organizations will have resource tables: Amor Para Todos (APT), Team for Inclusivity and Diversity (TIDE), Positive Images and North Bay LGBTQI Families.
