After more than 20 years on the air at KZST, Debbie Abrams recently stepped into a well-earned retirement, closing out a remarkable chapter in local radio. With degrees in English from UCLA and broadcast journalism from Cal State Northridge, Debbie built a career grounded in storytelling, connection, and community service.

“I love my job and I love radio,” she shares. “There’s the fun side, the entertainment part, and there’s a serious side. In an emergency, whether it’s fire or flood, we’re there to communicate with the masses. I feel like I’ve made a difference.”

And she has. Known for her sharp wit, strong perspective, and unmistakable voice, Debbie has been a trusted and dynamic presence across Sonoma County for decades. Authentic and unafraid to speak her mind, she built a lasting connection with listeners that continues well beyond the airwaves.

Though she has retired from KZST, Debbie remains a familiar and beloved voice in the community. Sonoma County Pride is proud to welcome her back this year as a parade announcer, continuing her long-standing support of Pride and the LGBTQIA+ community.
