Monday, May 21, 2018 – Sonoma County, California: Sonoma County Pride has announced the Entertainment lineup for the 2018 pride festival. This year’s entertainment is sponsored by Graton Resort and Casino. Since the resort opened in 2013 it has been actively involved in supporting the community. Support from major businesses like Graton has allowed Sonoma County Pride to grow and thrive. All Pride performances will be held on June 2 between the hours of noon and 8:00 PM at Old Courthouse Square in downtown Santa Rosa.

Headliner Wrabel is a musician who is well-known for his work as an LBGTQ advocate and has been nominated for a IOIS GLAAD award for Outstanding Music Artist. He was also listed as one of OUT Magazine’s 2017 OUT100. His songs range from traditional piano ballads like ‘II Blocks’ to the Dance Chart’s top 10 hit ‘Ritual’.

Jason Maek & Zaena are an electronic music duo with a signature sound that mixes, indie, dance, and pop. With songs like ‘Birthday’ and ‘Get Up’, they blend harmonic vocals with rap lyrics to create their own unique style of music. The duo is fast becoming a much sought-after ticket for music festivals around the country.

“Having Jason Maek & Zaena along with Wrabel and the other talented and fantastic performers is such a boost for this year’s Sonoma County Pride,” said JD Donavon, Sonoma County Pride’s President and Entertainment Director. “After relocating the festival to a more central location, adding these amazing acts to the stage is the cherry on the sundae. We’re thrilled to have each and every performer do us the honor of standing proud with us as one community.”

Also entertaining on stage at Old Courthouse Square is a diverse group of singers, dancers, DJs, standup comedians, activists, and more. Performing throughout the day will be Sister Phyliss Eithe-Litaday of the Sisters of Perpetual Indulgence; Drag Daddy Stela Furtado/D. Love; Drag performer and community activist Khmera Rouge; Drag performer and activist Patty McGroin; Self-proclaimed ‘King of Bling’ and reigning King of Hearts of Alameda and Contra Costa Counties, Chico Suave; and gender-bender Danny Packin.

Main stage entertainment will continue with a HauteButch fashion show featuring masculine attire for women and trans men by local designer Karen Roberts; gender-queer filmmaker, musician and drag artist Llano River Blue; The Redwood Rainbows Square Dancing Group; Sonoma County singer/songwriter Emily Lois; and Pride Spinners DJ Rotten Robbie, DJ Olga T, and DJ Jimmy Hits.

Pride performances will feature singing for the deaf brought to you by Communique. Old Courthouse Square is easily accessible by wheelchair and Sonoma County Pride is providing a reserved area near the front of the stage with a clear view of the performances for people with disabilities.

The Sonoma County Pride Festival will be held over a three-day period from June 1st to June 3rd, 2018 in downtown Santa Rosa. The new, more centralized location will provide accessibility for public transit, hotel accommodations, and parking as well as providing an economic boost to Sonoma County. It’s designed to appeal to a large diversity of tastes as well as to invite our friends, family, and neighbors from the entire Bay Area to join the weekend fun.

The theme for this year’s Sonoma County Pride is ‘Together We Rise’. The idea behind the theme is to combat hateful rhetoric and policies of the current national political leadership and to stand behind the people of the community who feel threatened by the words and actions of others who have been emboldened by the last election. The event will also embrace people who have been traumatized and dislocated after the recent tragic fires that devastated the county and surrounding areas. The entire event will be about joining together to resist bigotry and discrimination and helping the community to heal and rebuild.

Sonoma County LGBTQI (Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Transgender, Queer/Questioning, and Intersex) Pride Parade and Festival will take place June 1 -3rd 2018 in downtown Santa Rosa at Old Courthouse Square.
