SUMMARY:Pride @ 6th Street Playhouse - The Legend of Georgia McBride
DESCRIPTION:About this event\nWe Thank the 6th Playhouse for supporting Sonoma County Pride! A portion of your tickets proceeds will go to Sonoma County Pride\, so we can continue to bring you year-round activities! \nYou are puchasing 1 ticket to The Saturday\, February 26\, 2022\, 2 PM Performance of: \nThe Legend of Georgia McBride \n“Full of sass and good spirits—along with a spritz or two of sentimentality…” —New York Times \nA music-filled comedy about finding your true voice! \nPicture this: You’re barely making it as an Elvis impersonator in a run-down dive. You splurge on a pizza\, your rent check bounces\, again\, and your wife’s pissed. Then she announces\, “I’m pregnant!” \nWork ain’t no picnic either. Your boss wants to save the place so he books a drag show\, performed by his cousin (a drag queen) and her cranky companion. You get demoted to the bartender. \nOne night\, just before her wacky-on-roller-skates number\, the crank flakes out. “Hey\, don’t you know how to lip-sync?” asks the boss. Wham\, bam\, you’re on the stage! \nYou manage not to blow it\, and soon (with some expert tutelage) you find your groove. The money starts rolling in! Your sequined jumpsuit gives way to a gorgeous gown\, and voilá—Georgia McBride is born! \nWe’re thrilled to bring you this rare charmer—an homage to the drag queens who mentored the playwright through his own coming out. \nRunning time: Act 1 – 75 minutes\, Act 2 – 30 minutes\, plus a 15-minute intermission \nCovid Safety: \nDear Patrons\, 6th Street Playhouse is taking an aggressive step in trying to protect the Actors\, Staff\, Volunteers\, and you\, our Patrons\, by asking for PROOF OF VACCINATION AND ID for anyone over the age of 5. Also\, you must be prepared to wear masks throughout the performance and intermission. Food and drink may be consumed in the lobby but masks must be worn at all times unless you are actively eating or drinking. \nWe hope this is not an inconvenience but should you disagree with our cautious approach\, we can issue you a credit that can be used for future performance tickets when the crisis has abated\, or a refund. \nWe hope you understand that the health and well-being of everyone that works or visits the theater is our greatest priority and your support during these times would be extremely appreciated. \nSincerely\, The 6th Street Board of Directors and Staff \nFull details about our policy are on our website – https://6thstreetplayhouse.com/covid-policy/

SUMMARY:Winter Lights - Pride Skate Sessions
DESCRIPTION:Come celebrate Pride & the holiday season with skating on the Square – The Winter Lights Rink is an experience unlike any before in Santa Rosa! \nThe Sonoma County Pride Winter Lights Sessions directly benefit @Sonoma County Pride!! \nWhat a great opportunity to help Sonoma County Pride and have a Beyond the Rainbow experience in Downtown Santa Rosa! \nWhat to Expect \nPlease arrive 15 minutes early to check in\, sign your waiver\, and get your skates. One of our volunteers will check you in and get you ready to hop on the ice. You’ll be able to skate for about 45 minutes. \nWhile the skating area is fenced in\, there will be no personal item storage on-site and you are responsible for any items you bring with you. We will not be responsible for any lost or stolen items. \nSpectators are welcome to attend with skaters but must enter the area at the same time. \nSkate Rentals and Helmets \nSkate rentals are available in child’s size 9 through men’s 13. Your skate rental is included in your ticket price\, but you may also bring your own ice skates if they have been recently sharpened. \nSkates are sanitized between use\, but please don’t forget to bring socks! Sometimes an extra pair is helpful! \nWe highly recommend that children (and clumsy parents) wear helmets while on the ice.

SUMMARY:Documentary Film Discussion Group - El canto del Colibri
\n— \nThis Month’s Film-\nEl canto del Colibri\nhttps://events.sonomalibrary.org/event/4859704 \nYou can view the film on Kanopy with your library card: https://www.kanopy.com/product/el-canto-del-colibri-latino-immigrant-men- \nMuch like the seldom-heard song of the hummingbird\, the voices of Latino fathers are rarely heard in addressing LGBTQ issues. This film aims to amplify their voices. \n“El Canto del Colibri\,” is a story of Latino fathers dealing with issues of immigration\, faith\, marriage equality\, machismo\, culture\, and the process of their LGBTQ children coming out. Responding to requests from “Tres Gotas de Agua” audiences around the world\, the filmmakers are taking this journey by inviting Latino men to speak frankly about delicate and deeply personal topics. This film will address political issues about LGBTQ families\, social oppression\, shared responsibility and acceptance of LGBTQ people as members of Latino families. \nThe filmmakers will bring you real stories\, Latino immigrant fathers’ stories\, with interviews and interactions with family members\, and their everyday lives in their communities as a background. Using spectacular cinematography of our colorful Latino communities around the country\, the filmmakers intend to expose different points of view and help spur the development of powerful dialogue in our communities. This film seeks to fight isolation and build bridges of hope and solidarity among our Latino fathers\, their families and community activists.\nThis discussion will be in English and Spanish. \nFor instructions on how to set up a Kanopy account\, visit https://sonomalibrary.org/library-collection/kanopy\nYou will be emailed Zoom Meeting information before the meeting.
