In order to preserve a long-standing tradition, many leather and kink community organizations and individuals will be gathering on the Sunday before Folsom Street Fair to celebrate the start of Leather Week, to show our pride and diversity, and to raise the Leather Flag.
This year, groups plan to gather at the Folsom Street Foundry at 11 am, step off at noon, and march down Folsom, 8th, and Harrison Streets, (stopping at some of our favorite SoMa venues), before gathering at the SF Eagle for a major beer bust and the raising of a new 25’x15′ Leather Flag, on a magnificent 80-foot flagpole, at the brand-new (not quite completed) Eagle Plaza!
All varieties of leather, kink, fetish, queer, motorcycle, or LGBTQ organizations are encouraged to march. You can sign up at https://leatherprideparade.org/ or drop a line to email@example.com to let us know to expect you — or just show up!
Please prepare a sign or banner identifying your group to carry in the parade. If you can offer to provide some volunteers to help, that would be fantastic!
Individual marchers are also very welcome! Please arrive between 11 and 11:30 a.m, to receive your commemorative pin and “21+” wristband. Visitors to San Francisco are particularly invited to join in!
Sign up to volunteer at http://volunteersignup.org/AMBKR !
There is no cost to participate.
