Welcome to the PRIDE IN WINE COUNTRY Terrace at Sonoma County Pride 2011
Guerneville was the setting for Sonoma County’s annual LGBTQI Pride Parade and Celebration. Themed “GAY SERA, SYRAH” a tongue-in-cheek nod to Sonoma County’s famous wine production, the event took place on Sunday June 5th on the lush, grassy riverfront meadows of Guerneville Lodge. Organized this year by the Russian River Sisters of Perpetual Indulgence, the 2011 Pride events featured more GLITTER, more GLAM and more INDULGENCE then ever!
New This Year! The Pride Celebration provided a wonderful assortment of experiences and activities that uniquely represented the abundance of Sonoma County. True to the theme of “GAY SERA, SYRAH”, celebrants were able to enjoy unique foods and beverages from celebrated chefs and vintners. Foodies especially appreciated the chance to sample Sonoma County wines at the “Pride In Wine Country Terrace,” with seven Sonoma County wineries putting the "Syrah" in "Gay Sera, Syrah!
Wine terrace organizer, Mike Bernard says,
“The Pride In Wine Country terrace featured some amazing award-winning wines and each of the seven wineries had friendly, knowledgeable representatives pouring some of their best!”
Mike is well-known as one of the founders of MAGNUM, a men’s wine-tasting club which has grown to include participation by women in recent years.
