A Celebration of Sonoma County’s LGBTQI Community, Friends & Family

Guerneville, CA. Guerneville will be the setting for Sonoma County’s annual LGBTQI Pride Parade and Celebration on Sunday June 2, 2013. Organized by the Russian River Sisters’ Sonoma County Pride Planning Committee, the 2013 events will follow the theme “From Queer to Eternity.” There will be an abundant line-up of great entertainment and family-oriented games and activities. Pride 2013 will see the continuation of Lilith’s Lounge, the Radical Faerie Freedom Village, and the Pride in Wine Country Terrace, and Sister Lady Grace Pumpernickel will be hosting at the exciting new attraction for this year’s pride, the Bear Pavilion. The Pride parade will begin the march down Main Street at 11 AM with celebrants continuing on to the lush, grassy riverfront meadows of Guerneville Lodge with the last contingent.

We are also accepting submissions to MC the Pride Events. If you are interested please refer to performer’s submission guidelines above.
Pride Festival attendees will be able to enjoy unique foods and beverages from celebrated chefs and vintners using our regions fabulous bounty of foods and wines. Non-profits and businesses wishing to participate in Sonoma County Pride 2013 should go to the website www.sonomacountypride.org for the vendors application form.
Those wishing to assist with the production of this not to be missed event can demonstrate their support for Sonoma County Pride in several ways. The Pride Planning Committee is actively seeking business sponsorships, parade entries, vendors for the arts & crafts area, and advertisers in the official program. Sister Scarlet Billows, Chair of Sonoma County Pride 2013, said “We are excited about the new members who’ve joined us at the table this year. We’re seeing lots of talent and energy from new committee members, and we would love to see more members of the community get involved with both the planning process and volunteer opportunities on the day of the celebration.” The next Pride planning meeting is scheduled for February 6, 2013 at 7pm and will be at the Russian River Senior Center, 15010 Armstrong Woods Road, in Guerneville.
Fundraisers are being planned for early 2013, including a Russian River Sisters bingo, “Free to Be Me” on February 9th. Tickets for the bingo are on sale at the Sisters website www.rrsisters.org. If you like to bowl, you can try your hand on Monday nights at the Rainbow Cattle Company’s Wii bowling tournament.
